A statement by the National Storytelling Network defines Storytelling as an ancient Art form and a valuable form of human expression… Storytelling is the Interactive Art of using words and actions to reveal the elements and images of a story while encouraging the listener’s imagination.

This year, once again, the Southwest Regional Library in Pembroke Pines hosted the Story Book Festival with extraordinary success and lots of stories were told to young and old to enjoy!

If you didn't have the chance to stop by the Festival, you still have time to enjoy part of it in the Magical Forest inside the library… Stop by and enjoy how the Art of telling stories can transport you to magical places.

Contar historias es el arte interactivo de la utilización de palabras y acciones para mostrar los elementos e imágenes de una historia fomentando al mismo tiempo la imaginación del oyente.

Este año, una vez más, la Southwest Regional Library en Pembroke Pines fue sede de la Feria del Libro, con un éxito extraordinario y con muchas  historias contadas se les ofreció  a los jóvenes y adultos para disfrutar!

Si usted no tuvo la oportunidad de pasar por el Festival, todavía tiene tiempo para disfrutar de parte de el en el Bosque Mágico dentro de la biblioteca ... Pase y disfrute de cómo el Arte de contar historias le  puede transportar a lugares mágicos.

This week I had the pleasure to meet, south Florida, graphic designer, author and illustrator Andrew Toffoli.

Graduated of Florida State University and combining his degree with his passion of teaching, Toffoli is living one of his many dreams; his inspiration comes from his love of family, art, history and teaching.

Under his authorship, the book series “Hi-stories” my favorites where the author combines two well know Masters of the Arts, Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarroti and created two kids friendly characters for children to read, learn and enjoy art.

Esta semana tuve el placer de conocer al diseñador grafico, autor e ilustrador del sur de la florida Andrew Toffoli.

Graduado de la Florida State University y combinando su pasión por la enseñanza, Toffoli vive uno de sus muchos sueños; inspirado por su amor a la familia, el arte, la historia y la educación.

Bajo su autoría se encuentra la serie de libros  “Hi-sories” , entre mis favoritas, los cuentos en los que el autor combina a dos Maestros de las Artes como Da Vinci y Michelangelo en personajes entretenidos para que los niños, lean, aprendan y disfruten de la historia del arte.

The Miramar Cultural Center invites you to enjoy an exciting day of fun-filled activities at any of the Family Theater performances, featuring six stage shows from November 16^th to May 4^th,2014.

The experience includes an art activity provided by Young at Art Museum and a visit from Buddy the bookworm, presented by WastePro. This Family Theater Series features theater performances based on classic children’s literature that initiate young spectator to the arts as well as enhance reading.

Art 4 Kids @ CIFO / Arte para los Ninos en CIFO

The Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation invited, once again, all kids from 5 to 12 years to participate of the Art 4 Kids workshop; a fun and educational activity that let the kid take part in a creative art activities at CIFO Art Space.

With a minimal fee, all the participating kids got the chance to have a snack and work closely with local Miami artist and take home their own art project.

La Fundacion de Arte Cisneros Fontanals invito, una vez mas, a todos los ninos de 5 a 12 anos a participar de Art 4 Kids, una iniciativa divertida y educativa en la que los participantes forman parte de una creativa actividad de arte en los espacios de arte de CIFO.

Por un bajo costo, todos los ninos participantes, tuvieron la oportunidad de tener una merienda y trabajar de cerca con artistas plasticos de la zona de Miami, y crear un projecto uniqo para llevar a casa.

The Color Run™, also known as the Happiest 5k on the Planet, is a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness, and individuality.

Miami celebrated with this five-kilometer, un-timed race, in which thousands of participants were doused from head to toe, in different colors at each kilometer.The fun continued at the finish line with a “Finish Festival,” using more colored powder to create happiness and lasting memories, not to mention millions of vivid color combinations.

The Color run, tambien conocida como el5k mas feliz del planeta, es una carrera con pintura unica, que celebra la salud, la felicidad y la individualidad.

Miami, celebro estos 5 kilometros de carrera, sin tiempo, donde los participantes fueron rociados de pies a cabeza, con polvos de colores, en cada kilometro de la carrera. Finalizando con un "Festival" en el que mucho mas color fue esparcido, creando recuerdos inmemorables y colores extraordinarios.

From Germany to USA

Joana Bruessow was born in Germany in 1985. In 2010 she received her Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Muenster. In 2008/09 she earned an Erasmus and DFJW scholarship at the Ecole supérieure d’art d’Aix en Provence, France.

Her work is in private collections in Germany and the United States. She had public exhibitions in galleries and fairs in Miami, Florida, as well as a recent museum appearance. 

Currently you can enjoy her work, at her art studio, at the Bakehouse Art Complex, Miami, Florida.

Su obra se encuentra en colecciones privadas en Alemania y Estados Unidos. Tuvo exposiciones públicas en galerías y ferias en Miami, Florida, así como una reciente aparición museo.

Actualmente se puede disfrutar de su trabajo, en su estudio de arte, en el Complejo Arte Bakehouse, Miami, Florida.
