Esta semana, desde la fiesta oficial VIP de Art Miami 2013 en Bakehouse Art Complex, una exhibicion de creatividad donde los artistas de Bac transformaron un elemento de la vida cotidiana en unas obras de arte, mostrando asi sus puntos de vista.

This year, once again, the City of Pembroke Pines Glass Gallery, the Art and Culture Advisory Board, Parks and Recreation and City Art Curator Benoit Benasche organized the Children's Holiday in The Pines Art Show.

Students from different schools from the city participated and showcased colorful and original art pieces for the audience to enjoy. The opening reception will take place in the space of the City Hall Glass Gallery, this upcoming December 17th, and it is open to the public. Art work will be display until the end of January.

Este año, una vez más, la ciudad de Pembroke Pines, la junata de el arte y  Cultura, Parques y recreación y el curador de arte de la ciudad Benoit Benasche organizaron una exposición de arte de niños para niños .

Estudiantes de diferentes escuelas de la ciudad participan y muestran coloridos y originales piezas de arte para el disfrute del público . La recepción de apertura se llevará a cabo en el espacio del Glass Galery, este próximo 17 de diciembre, y esta abierta para publio .Las obras estará expuestas hasta finales de enero.

Este año, una vez más, la Southwest Regional Library en Pembroke Pines fue sede de la Feria del Libro, con un éxito extraordinario y con muchas  historias contadas se les ofreció  a los jóvenes y adultos para disfrutar!

This week I had the pleasure to meet, south Florida, graphic designer, author and illustrator Andrew Toffoli.

Graduated of Florida State University and combining his degree with his passion of teaching, Toffoli is living one of his many dreams; his inspiration comes from his love of family, art, history and teaching.

Under his authorship, the book series “Hi-stories” my favorites where the author combines two well know Masters of the Arts, Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarroti and created two kids friendly characters for children to read, learn and enjoy art.

Esta semana tuve el placer de conocer al diseñador grafico, autor e ilustrador del sur de la florida Andrew Toffoli.

Graduado de la Florida State University y combinando su pasión por la enseñanza, Toffoli vive uno de sus muchos sueños; inspirado por su amor a la familia, el arte, la historia y la educación.

Bajo su autoría se encuentra la serie de libros  “Hi-sories” , entre mis favoritas, los cuentos en los que el autor combina a dos Maestros de las Artes como Da Vinci y Michelangelo en personajes entretenidos para que los niños, lean, aprendan y disfruten de la historia del arte.

Art 4 Kids @ CIFO / Arte para los Ninos en CIFO

The Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation invited, once again, all kids from 5 to 12 years to participate of the Art 4 Kids workshop; a fun and educational activity that let the kid take part in a creative art activities at CIFO Art Space.

With a minimal fee, all the participating kids got the chance to have a snack and work closely with local Miami artist and take home their own art project.

The Color Run™, also known as the Happiest 5k on the Planet, is a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness, and individuality.

Miami celebrated with this five-kilometer, un-timed race, in which thousands of participants were doused from head to toe, in different colors at each kilometer.The fun continued at the finish line with a “Finish Festival,” using more colored powder to create happiness and lasting memories, not to mention millions of vivid color combinations.

The Color run, tambien conocida como el5k mas feliz del planeta, es una carrera con pintura unica, que celebra la salud, la felicidad y la individualidad.

Miami, celebro estos 5 kilometros de carrera, sin tiempo, donde los participantes fueron rociados de pies a cabeza, con polvos de colores, en cada kilometro de la carrera. Finalizando con un "Festival" en el que mucho mas color fue esparcido, creando recuerdos inmemorables y colores extraordinarios.

From Germany to USA

Joana Bruessow was born in Germany in 1985. In 2010 she received her Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Muenster. In 2008/09 she earned an Erasmus and DFJW scholarship at the Ecole supérieure d’art d’Aix en Provence, France.

Her work is in private collections in Germany and the United States. She had public exhibitions in galleries and fairs in Miami, Florida, as well as a recent museum appearance. 

Currently you can enjoy her work, at her art studio, at the Bakehouse Art Complex, Miami, Florida.

Su obra se encuentra en colecciones privadas en Alemania y Estados Unidos. Tuvo exposiciones públicas en galerías y ferias en Miami, Florida, así como una reciente aparición museo.

Homage to Hispanic Colors / Homenaje a los Colores Hispanos

The Broward College District Board of Trustees, President J. David Armstrong, Jr. and curator Elizabeth Erazo Baez, invited to the opening of the art exhibit “Homage to Hispanic Colors” a display of latin art work of artists: Acosta, Beaz, Blanco, Landaeta, Marrero Rodriguez, Modica, Sierra, Suarez and Quiles.

Simultaneously with the exhibition, also took place the grand opening of the Lingua Center at Broward College, celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

A silent auction benefiting ASPIRA of Florida, was also important part of the night.

La junta directiva del Broward College, Presidente Armstrong y la curadora de Arte Elizabeth Erazo, invitaron a la apertura de la exposicion de arte "Homaje a los Colores Hispanos", una colectiva de los artistas latinos: Acosta, Beaz, Blanco, Landaeta, Marrero Rodriguez, Modica, Sierra, Suarez y Quiles.

Simultaneamente a la exposicion , se llevo a cabo la apertura del Centro Lingua de Broward College, con motivo de la celebracion del mes de la Herencia Hispana.

Una subasta silenciosa tambien formo parte de la noche, a beneficio de ASPIRA de Florida.

“Nuestros Acentos” photographic collective exhibit, was recently opened to the public, setting the beginning of the Coloquio Miami 2013; an initiative organized by the Miami Dade College at the Art Space in the Koubek Center.

100 images of Iberoamerica in Miami, photographers from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Chile, Spain, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela presented their work to the public, a group of shots from panoramic views to butterflies, from birds to portraits, showcasing the wide styles and points of view of the eyes behind the camera.

Here a view of the opening night where I presented part of my Semi-Pop and Photo-Digital Art. Enjoy!  

La exposición colectiva de fotografía, Nuestros Acentos, fue inaugurada recientemente, dando inicio a las actividades que enmarcan el Coloquio Miami 2013, una iniciativa del Miami Dade College, celebrada en el Art Space del Koubek Center.

100 imágenes de Iberoamérica en Miami, unifico en trabajo de fotógrafos de Argentina, Brasil, Colombia, Cuba, Chile, España, México, Paraguay, Perú, Uruguay y Venezuela, presentando al public un grupo de variadas tomas, de vistas panorámicas a mariposas, de aves a retratos, esta colectiva mostros los diversos puntos de vista del ojo detrás de la cámara.

Paul Feeley in New York / Paul Feeley en New York

Garth Greenan Gallery, announced its inaugural exhibition of paintings, watercolors, and drawings, Paul Feeley: 1957–1962.

The show is the first presentation of Feeley's work in a New York gallery since 2008. Twelve of the artist's abstract paintings will be on view, as well as a selection of related landscape watercolors, which has never before been exhibited. 

A fully illustrated catalog will accompany the exhibition, with an essay by David Anfam. 

Feeley's work is featured in the collections of major museums around the country, including: the Detroit Institute of Arts; the Fogg Museum, Harvard University; the McNay Art Museum; the Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Museum of Modern Art; the Smithsonian American Art Museum; the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum; the Wadsworth Atheneum; and the Whitney Museum of American Art.

" One Country, Two Points of View " / " Un Pais, Dos Puntos de Vista "

The Southwest Regional Library in Pembroke Pines, celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with artists Claudia Ojeda and Richard B. Landaeta and the opening of their exhibit "One Country, Two Points of View".

Ojeda's zodiac symbols series and Landaeta's paintings of nature, gather an eclectic sample of this two Venezuelan artists different points of view. 

The show takes place on the main level of the Broward County Library in the Academic Village and will be open for the public to enjoy through the end of October.

Visit the exhibition and support the Hispanic work. Art pieces are available for purchase; contact artists for details.

La bliblioteca Southwest Regional de Pembroke Pines celebra el Mes de la Herencia Hispana con los artista Claudia Ojeda y Richard B. Landaeta y la apertura de su exposicion "Un Pais, Dos Puntos de Vista".

La serie de pinturas abstractas de Ojeda y las pinturas de la naturaleza de Landaeta, agrupan una muestra eclectica de los diferentes puntos de vista de estos dos artista de origen venezolano.

Where the Wild Things Are / Donde viven los Monstruos

VII Hall of the Americas / VII Salón de las Americas

On the occasion of holding one more year of the declaration of independence of Venezuela and Colombia, the Community Center of the Americas in conjunction with the study of Art Lucy Saenz, together with artists and collaborators, was held the exhibition VII Salon of the Americas, where leading visual artists of both nations came together and presented to a large group of attendees their latest masterpieces.


I had the pleasure of being one of plastic artists from Venezuela who presented his works among other extraordinary artists were participating as Alicia Arvelo, Rafael Montilla, Wiston Quinto, Viviana Pineda, Lucy Saenz, Fredo Valladares, Richard Bello Landaeta, Francisco Ceron, Liliana boatman, Camilo Villamiar, Martha Rueda and Marcela Collazos.

 

Con motivo de celebrase un ano mas de la declaracion de Independencia de Venezuela y Colombia, el Centro Comunitario de las Americas conjuntamente con el estudio de Arte Lucy Saenz, unidos a artistas y colaboradores; se llevo a cabo la exhibicion VII Salon de las Americas, donde destacados artistas plasticos de ambas naciones se dieron cita y presentaron a un gran grupo de asistentes sus mas recientes obras de arte.

Tuve el placer de ser una de las artistas plasticas venezonalas que presento su obras entre otros extraordinarios artistas participantes como lo fueron Alicia Arvelo, Rafael Montilla, Wiston Quinto, Viviana Pineda, Lucy Saenz, Fredo Valladares, Richard Bello Landaeta, Francisco Ceron, Liliana botero, Camilo Villamiar, Martha Rueda y Marcela Collazos.

The Indigo Room by Edouard Duval-Carrie is currently on view at the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art. This installation from the heart and hands of Duval-Carrié, with the assistance of students from the Dillard Center for the Arts, bespeaks the artist's ineradicable connection to the island of his birth. Knowledgeable about Vodou since childhood, Duval-Carrié incorporates the religion's theatrical sacred personages as players in his visual dramas of upheaval and transcendence. Migration out of Haiti, with consequences for the country left behind, is a persistent theme.

La Habitacion Indigo del artista Edouard Duval-Carrie esta actualmente a la vista en el Museo de Arte de Ft. Lauderdale. Esta instalacion que refleja el corazon y  las mannos del artista Duval-Carrie, con la ayuda de los estudiantes del Centro de Arte Dillard, presenta la intrincica relacion del artista con la isla en la que nacio. Con conocimientos del vudu, desde su infancia, Duval-Carrie, incorpora las actuaciones teatrales de la religion y  los personajes como elementos visuales que brindan drama a la obra.La migracion de Haiti, y en consecuencia el mundo dejado atras, son conceptos que se repiten en su trabajo. 

La Habitacion Indigo, es una obra en plexiglass y moldeada en acrylico, con objetos cortesia del artista y de la galeria de Arte Bernice Steinbaum.
