Art Speaks, is a new interactive series of art programs of artists demonstrations followed by audience discussions that is set to debut at the Miramar Cultural Center | Art Parks, during the 2014-2015 cultural season and consist of four culturally diverse programs.

Thanks to a grant from the John S and James L Knight Foundation, this art programs will allow for photo opportunities with the artists and networking, as well as provide a venue for artists to sell and share their art works, when applicable.

Over the next several months, final details and preparations will made for the program to secure matching funds. All art programs in the series will be free and open to the public.

El Arte habla, es una serie de programas de arte interactivos, donde artistas demostraran su talento seguido de discusiones las cuales se iniciaran en el Centro Cultural de Miramar | Art Park, durante la temporada cultural 2014-2015 y las que consistirán en cuatro programas culturales diversos.

Gracias a la donación de la Fundación John S y James L Knight, estos programas de arte proveerán la oportunidad de compartir y fotografiarse con artistas, así como también provee una locación única para los artistas vender y promover su obra.

En los próximos meses, detalles finales sobre la preparación del programa se llevaran a cabo, para garantizar que las donaciones cubran este proyecto. Todos los programas de arte de esta serie se ofrecerán de manera gratuita y abierta a todo público.

Circus Museum / Museo del Circo

This week I want to share with you my visit to a very fun and different museum; The Ringling Circus Museum in Sarasota, Florida.

The Circus Museum was established in 1948 by The Ringling’s first Director, Chick Austin and it was the first museum in the country to document the rich history of the American circus.

This special museum features banners, costumes, wagons and “The Wisconsin”, the private railcar on which John and Mable Ringling traveled around the country on business with the circus.

With the world’s largest miniature circus, housed at the Tibbals Learning Center and a giant mural titles The Greatest Show on Earth, this section of the Circus museum welcome visitors of all ages to a colorful visit. Lastly, a hands-on interactive room and a timeline second floor give the extra fun and history that only the Circus Museum can showcase.

Esta semana quiero compartir con ustedes nuestra visita an un muy divertido y diferente museo; el Ringling, Museo del Circo.

Este Museo del Circo fue establedido en 1948 por el primer director del Ringling, Chick Austin, y fue el primer museo de este tipo en America, el cual documentaba la rica historia del mundo del circo.

Este especial museo, muestra pancartas, disfraces, trenes y hasta el vagon privado "The Winconsin" el cual fuera en el que viajaran por todos los estados unidos John y Mable Ringling, haciendo negocios relacionados al circo.

Cuenta con el circo miniatura mas grande del mundo, y es cada del centro de aprendizaje The Tibbals, asi como tambien un mural gigante titulado "El mejor show del mundo" el cual recibe a todos los visitantes al museo. Por ultimo, una sala interactiva y segundo piso lleno de historia, le brindan a todos la oportunidad de divertirse y aprender de esta magica historia.

The Ansin Art Gallery at the Miramar Cultural Center hosted Artist Guy Harvey exhibition, showcasing several of Harvey’s original pieces and an eclectic collection of artwork on tile, canvas and giclee reproductions.

Guy Harvey combines his artistic talent with his experience as diver, photographer and marine biologist, creating incredible marine art pieces that captivate everyone’s attention.

Sample of his works can be seen at the Fort Lauderdale International Airport and Nova Southeastern University and currently he is completing a canvas series for the Norwegian cruise ship “Escape”.

La Galeria de Arte Ansin en el Centro Cultural de Miramar celebro una exhibición del reconocido artista Guy Harvey, mostrando una variada colección de piezas originales del artista, en cerámica, canvas y algunas reproducciones giclee.

Guy Harvey combina su talento artístico con su experiencia como buzo, fotógrafo y biólogo marino, creando increíbles obras de arte marinas, que cautivan la atención de todo espectador.

Usted puede apreciar muestras del trabajo de este artista en los techos y pisos del aeropuerto internacional de Ft Lauderdale así como también la Universidad NOVA, y actualmente trabaja en completar una serie de canvas las cuales vestirán el crucero “Escape” de NCL.

Lena Luckey is a traveler presenting a travelogue through the faces she paints of people we find familiar in places we yearn to visit.* She likes to add pigments and materials with hand- and brush-strokes to bring the faces into textured relief on canvas.

This past week at the Ft Lauderdale Home Show, Luckey was invited by Around Town Arts and Culture Magazine / South Florida to display and create her work for all the visitors to see.

I had the chance to stop by and enjoy some her painting while having a chat about her style and creations.

Lena Luckey es una viajera que presenta sus travesías por medio de los rostros de todas aquellas personas que encuentra familiares en los diversos lugares que visita. A ella le gusta añadir pigmentos y materiales bien sea con sus manos o a través de los brochazos de un pincel, brindando así a sus retratos texturas sobre las canvas.

Esta semana pasada, en el Home Show celebrado en Ft Lauderdale, Luckey fue invitada por la Revista Around Town Arts and Culture del sur de la Florida, a mostrar y trabajar su obra en el espacio de la revista, para el deleite de todos los visitantes al evento.

Tuve la oportunidad de conocerla y conversar con ella sobre su obra, su estilo y sus creaciones.
