The ART of Opera / El ARTE de la Opera

This weekend I had the pleasure of going to the Opera to see The Magic Flute written by Mozart and I wanted to share with you this spectacular art form by giving you the definition and showing you some very interesting art pieces created by masters, using this form of art as main subject of their paintings.

As always…Enjoy!

Opera is an ART form in which singers and musicians perform a dramatic work combining text  and musical score, usually in a theatrical setting. The Opera incorporates many of the elements of spoken theatre, such as acting, scenery, and costumes and sometimes includes dance. The performance is typically given in an opera house, accompanied by an orchestra or smaller musical ensemble.
