Picasso "Art & Arena” is the title of the exhibit that showcases 39 Picasso artworks never seen before in the United States.

The exhibit is taking place in St. Augustine, Florida and is the first of many exhibits planned by the St. Augustine 450th Commemoration. The exhibition is presented in English and Spanish in the St. Augustine Visitors Center.

The main part of the exhibit is shaped as a mock bull ring, with two life size photographs (circa 1925) of a crowd watching a Spanish bull fight on one side of the arena, 11 bull lithographs by Picasso hanging on the other side of the ring, and bull pottery pieces by Picasso on display in glass cases in the center of the ring.

Outside the arena are “pocket galleries,” with photographs of the artist, quotes by Picasso, engravings, book illustrations and other Picasso drawings. There also is a “Picasso Through the Years” timeline, telling facts and images throughout the artist’s life, from 1881 to 1973.

Picasso "Arte y Arena" es el título de la exposición que muestra 39 obras de arte de Picasso nunca antes vistas en los Estados Unidos.

La exposición tiene lugar en St. Augustine, Florida, y es la primera de muchas exposiciones programadas por la conmemoración de los 450 anos de San Agustín. La exposición se presenta en Inglés y Español en el Centro de Visitantes de San Agustín.

La parte principal de la exposición está conformada como una plaza de toros simulada, con dos fotografías de tamaño natural (circa 1925) de un público que estaba viendo una corrida de toros españolas en un lado de la arena, 11 litografías de toro de Picasso colgado en el otro lado del anillo, y el piezas de cerámica de Picasso en vitrinas en el centro del anillo.

Fuera de la arena son "galerías de bolsillo", con fotografías del artista, citas de Picasso, grabados, ilustraciones de libros y otros dibujos de Picasso. También hay una linea de tiempo "Picasso A través de los años", contando los hechos y las imágenes a lo largo de la vida del artista, desde 1881 a 1973.
